Effective Pain Management
Best For:
Acute / Chronic Muscle Pain
Dual Action (Cool & Hot)
Easy Application
In pain management, the nociceptors turn on, which triggers a “gate” and begins dropping calcium or sodium ions at a neuron causing it to burn, translating to a pain “signal” that your brain inteprets as pain.
Temperature has shown to activate certain members of the transient receptor potential (TRP) family of cation channels. TRPV1 and other three TRPV are activated by noxious hot.
In addition, single members of two distinct subfamilies of TRP have been implicated in cold sensation: TRPM8, TRPA1, TRPA, the newest subfamily of TRP ion channels, also acts as a temperature sensor.
Genes that create proteins allows you to sense both cooling and warming sensation, but these sensors get triggered by things other than cool temperatures for TRPA1 & TRPM8 or hot temperature for TRPV1. TRPA1 is triggered by cold. TRPV1 is triggered by hot (but also by capsaicin or similar group of compounds).

Helps With Back Pain
The unique formulation of Reme-Duo’s Hot and Cold patch provides dual action (Cool and Hot sensation) to relive from muscular and joint pain.
The main function of hydrogel patches is mostly due to a cooling effect called Cyrotheraphy (General use of low temperature in the theraphy)
Secondly, the hot effects that occurs is allegedly achieved by imitating a burning sensation, overwhelming the nerves by the calcium influx and thereby rendering the nerves unable to report pain for an extended period of time.
The primary effect of cold in pain management is to lower the temperature of the injured tissue, which reduces the tissue’s metabolic rate and helps the tissue to survive the period following the injury. This cooling effect can also prevent the internal hemorrhage by contraction of the peripheral vessels.
The therapeutic effects of hotness include increasing the extensibility of collagen tissues; decreasing joint stiffness, reducing pain, relieving muscle and reducing inflammation.
Cool and Hot therapy are useful adjuncts for the treatment of musculoskeletal injuries and soft tissue injuries. Initially after application of patch the temperature of application area will lower 37 to 33 degrees Celcius and it will be maintained for 2 – 3 hours and the hot effect will be maintained for up to 6 hours and the temperature will reach body temperature.
